"Into the Wild" — A Solo Exhibition by Kris Chantranet

Exploring the Boundary Between Humanity and Nature

VS Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of "Into the Wild", a new solo exhibition by artist Kris Chantranet, inviting viewers to step out of their comfort zones and into the wilderness to explore the fine line between human civilization and untamed nature.

In this body of work, Kris reimagines forest waterfalls — landscapes he has never physically visited — by interpreting photographs and infusing them with strange, fantastical creatures. These beings symbolize the primal and untouched essence of the natural world, free from human interference. The paintings evoke a sense of unease and alienation, yet remain profoundly captivating, prompting reflections on humanity's complicated relationship with nature.
At a time when urban life increasingly distances us from the wild, "Into the Wild" questions our longing for nature — a connection often reduced to fleeting weekend getaways or the creation of artificial green spaces within cities.

"Into the Wild" will be on view from April 26 to June 15, 2025
