Echoes from the void
🗓 19 Apr - 14 Jun 2025
📍CARTEL Art Space
Open Tuesday-Saturday 12:00-17:00
This art exhibition explores the primal origins of the human spirit, exploring how beliefs, intangibles, are transformed into ways of life or sacred objects. This work is inspired by the beliefs of the Stone Age and Bronze Age people, how our ancestors translated sacredness and belief into everyday materials, and how they made the mysterious tangible.
As civilizations evolved, the need to make these abstract beliefs tangible increased. Objects, rituals, and places inevitably became the means through which we connected ourselves to our beliefs.
This exhibition tells stories through mixed media and symbols, interpreting stories and beliefs from the beginning of humanity from the Stone Age to the legends of belief in sacred objects today. Revealing the connection between the sacred, the self and the spirit, which is like a shadow that follows us all the time.
Ultimately, the exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the origins of their own beliefs and how the sacred continues to be present in our lives, no matter how much time has passed.
