"𝗥𝗨𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡" is a word that signifies the era of collapse, expanding to encompass great loss, an unstoppable catastrophe such as destruction from natural disasters, war, death, extinct species, and irreversible separation.
In the context of this exhibition, 𝗥𝗨𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 does not only refer to tangible collapse. The shattered and distorted spirit and instinctual feelings also constitute a 𝗥𝗨𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡-like loss.
This is because humans have severely threatened and destroyed nature, using power in all forms to create endless conflicts in politics, beliefs, religion, ethnicity, and economics. Loss spreads rapidly, destroying the balance of life. And certainly, the result is that all living beings must be affected without exception.
𝗥𝗨𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 not only reflects the dark side of loss but also symbolically implies rebirth, like a cleansing. It is about confronting and accepting the consequences of actions, a defeat that can be seen as the end of the ego that clings to self, to pave the way for learning and growth in a different state, creating newly interpreted knowledge.
When life is facing destruction and fear, art may not be a weapon for destruction or retaliation. Instead, art is a refuge that does not judge anyone to be defeated.
The artworks from 19 artists in this 𝗥𝗨𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 exhibition reflect the shared human experience of confronting loss in various dimensions. It aims to open up space for thought, allowing viewers to feel that they are not alone in facing the crisis. In fragile and dangerous times, art can create a safe space for the body and mind to rest, to restore intellectual fragmentation. Art also functions to interpret and question, prompting people to contemplate the meaning and how to cope with the impending collapse that is rapidly approaching.
𝗥𝗨𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 exhibition showcases artworks from 19 artists: Heyshiro, Aitoy, BYME, KNN.FIVE, Tat Nattee, Nattapong Phoenix, Jirayu Tantrakul, Nattaphat Dissorn, Keeyapat Katesawai, Therdkiat Wangwatcharakul, Thanwa Huangsmut, Pongsatat Uaiklang, Nattan Kongmalikankaew, Patcharaporn Baiposuwan, Theerawit Poopha, Thanakorn Nithikonkaiwat, Molticha Pongudompanya, Pakjira Pattanapaisarn, and Nudcha Sithipreedanant
