MMAD MASS GALLERY invites members of the media to attend the exclusive opening of "Tracing Memories", an exhibition presented as part of Lamunlamai x You – Season 2.
Building the success of Lamunlamai x You – Season 1, which provided a platform for artists, illustrators, and creatives to experiment with ceramics, the project returns for a second season with a fresh perspective. "Tracing Memories" explores the concept of memory through lines, textures, and clay surfaces, offering a new dimension to contemporary art.
This exhibition invites artists to redefine "memory" through an evolving creative process—shifting from ink, color, and brushes to clay, wooden tools, wire, and hand-sculpting techniques. Each artwork is a conversation between the artist and the material, where clay serves not just as a surface for artistic expression but as a responsive medium. The way it reacts to environmental changes and touch—such as natural cracks caused by temperature shifts or textures shaped by the artist’s hand—adds depth and unpredictability to the final piece.
The exhibition features works by Art of Hongtae, Auracherrybag, give.me.museums, and i.draw.a.house, each with a distinct artistic style and narrative approach. Some employ intricate line work to create imaginary worlds, others use colors and textures to evoke emotions, while some incorporate symbolic elements to tell stories beyond words.
More than an art exhibition, "Tracing Memories" serves as a space for experimentation—an opportunity for both artists and audiences to explore the interplay between human experience, materials, and memory. The traces left on each ceramic piece may reflect hidden imaginations, fragments of the past, or entirely new stories being shaped. Every touch imprinted on the clay embodies a process of discovery, innovation, and artistic evolution.
