Did you know that industrial meat and dairy production is one of the main causes of the climate crisis?
The rapid expansion of the meat and dairy industry is linked to deforestation, as forests are turned into monoculture agricultural lands, such as corn for animal feed. It is also a significant cause of transboundary haze pollution. The agricultural sector contributes to nearly one-third of all greenhouse gas emissions, with 60% of food industry emissions coming from livestock farming. The meat industry is the largest human-made source of methane, a highly potent greenhouse gas. The more methane we release, the more intense the planet’s warming.
