ORDER & OPULENCE ⎮ Face in Line & Hue

This exhibition explores the duality of identity through contrasting forms of artistic expression: the meticulous order of black ink linework and the vibrant opulence of color. Each piece presents a face divided, where structured, geometric patterns meet freeform, painterly strokes, symbolizing the balance between internal discipline and external richness. The black lines embody the organized, analytical aspects of self, while bold hues represent emotional depth and the complexities of personal experience. Together, these works invite viewers to consider the layered nature of identity—both the structured and the chaotic, the concealed and the expressive.

Ploypim is an artist that creates works that articulate different aspects of the self, touch upon memory and the ordinary. Each her painting bears the different layers of self-discovery where each of her completed work of art is inner searching for meaning and it almost felt like a work in progress.

Combining personal and universal themes, her art offers space for the inner life to converse with outer expression. Employing the emotional capability of colour and depth to imply hidden layers, her art invites us to take a moment, breathe, and explore our complexity of who we are or will ever be. Her art is in living the phrase that she holds dear: I am and I am not.

Gerardo Simonetto began his creative journey in photography, crafting
projects that highlighted the unique personalities and distinct features of his subjects. His work captures the texture and nuances of real life, delving into the interplay between order and raw emotion. This passion for storytelling has evolved into the realm of ink black line art, where he explores the structural "skeleton" of identity, using his line work to reflect the underlying framework that shapes our internal worlds.

In both photography and ink art, he seeks to reveal the contrast between the defined, organized aspects of self and the vivid, often chaotic expressions that color our experiences. His work invites viewers to contemplate how these contrasting elements coexist within us, shaping who we are. Currently, he is expanding his artistic approach by experimenting with new styles to bring his inner visions to life and share them with the world.
