Inspired by the Song “Dok Yah Nai Pa Poon” by Tai Orathai: The Story of the Kramboy Character

Upon hearing the song “Dok Yah Nai Pa Poon” by Tai Orathai, inspiration struck, leading to the creation of a narrative for the character Kramboy.

When Kramboy learned that he had to move to the capital city to work and live in an urban jungle, he found himself tucked into the corners and crevices of the bustling metropolis. The feeling he once had listening to the song back home in Sakon Nakhon changed when he heard it again in the city. Overwhelmed by homesickness but compelled by work responsibilities, Kramboy sought ways to make city life feel less distant from his home life. He decided to plant trees and flowers in the building he lived in while working.

Kramboy transformed the three-story rowhouse he occupied into a kind of flowerpot, dividing each floor to symbolize the elements of soil, trunk, and bloom. He started growing various plants and flowers reminiscent of those from his hometown, diligently watering and tending to them. As the plants began to flourish, the building came alive, vibrant with colors, scents, sounds, and joy, creating an environment that resembled his beloved home.

Sleeping With Angels
This narrative symbolizes Kramboy sleeping among the “angels” of the city—a metaphor for urban dwellers. Simultaneously, Kramboy created his own little angels: the chirping insects, the fragrant flowers, and the refreshing greenery of the nature he cultivated within the building.

These efforts represent Kramboy’s attempt to restore cherished childhood memories for city people. Kramboy believes that most urban dwellers originally hail from rural provinces and moved to Bangkok for work.

“Kramboy is bringing memories back to the city.”
