Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC): A Borderless Vision for 2025

As we step into 2025, many of us are chasing new goals, and the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC)—affectionately called "BACC" by locals—is no exception. Over the years, BACC has been a beacon for art education, cultural exchange, and creative inspiration, welcoming visitors from all corners of the globe. This year, the center is poised to break new ground under the ambitious theme, "Borderless." The mission? To transcend cultural boundaries, foster collaboration, and create art without limits.

From March to June, the Early Years Project #8 will nurture emerging artists, marking the 8th year of this platform for fresh creative talent. Following this, in partnership with the Jim Thompson Art Center, BACC will present "The Shattered Worlds: Micro Narratives from the Ho Chi Minh Trail to the Great Steppe" (April–July). This exhibition explores the cultural and social impacts of the Cold War in Southeast Asia and beyond.

July will see the NAN Scape Exchange Program, a platform for community art discussions, short film screenings, and musical performances. Later, the Local Networking Exhibition (July–October) will spotlight untold local histories and cultural exchanges, with participation from artists across Thailand, including those from the deep South, Udon Thani, and Bangkok.

Performance art will take center stage mid-year with P.A.P.#14, featuring boundary-pushing works under the theme Borderless. This includes the blurborders performance art eXchange and projects from selected artists showcasing innovative performances. The year will culminate in the Bangkok Theatre Festival in November, closing out the season with a celebration of theatrical creativity.

Additionally, the new Art and Neighboring column, a collaboration with Once, will enrich BACC’s social channels with engaging art and culture content. This partnership promises fresh and fun insights for art enthusiasts throughout the year.
