The Bangkok Art Biennale 2024 is set to unfold under the enchanting theme: “Nurture Gaia” this october! Let’s take a closer look into the meaning of the theme.

Gaia, the ancient personification of Mother Earth, embodies the essence of nurturing, life-giving energy across cultures and epochs. Her influence extends from prehistoric times to shaping scientific theories and philosophical musings. The theme "Nurture Gaia" will delve into the interplay between nature and nurture, embracing themes of femininity, contemplative ecology, primordial origins, hybridity, and the supernatural.

In addition to the artists and collectives selected by Bangkok Art Biennale’s curatorial team, the Bangkok Art Biennale also showcases chosen applicants from the Open Call programme held from October–November 2023.
