JWD Art Space is pleased to present AMINIMAL | Working Between the Lines, the exhibition features Mit Jai Inn, Andreas Reiter Raabe, and Giles Ryder, three artists from diverse generations and cultural backgrounds, each deeply invested in notions of art-making.
present existing and newly created works and installations as a ground for encounter and possibility. Hence the title, intended as a play on words. On one hand, AMINIMAL points to the dichotomy inherent in the practices of the three artists.
By juxtaposing "animal", "minimal," and “a-minimal”, the artists question the very foundations of minimalism, proposing that the essential and the elaborate are not opposites, but rather different expressions of the same impulse.
This duality extends to the ritualistic nature of the artists' practices, where animalistic forces meet creativity. On the other hand, Working Between the Lines, becomes a conduit for both minimal and maximal expression.
Through their distinct approaches, the artists explore these intersections, revealing the fertile ground that lies not in certainty but in the spaces "between the lines."
The exhibition is open from 14 September – 24 November 2024
