‘After Julieta’ is an epilogue of its previous exhibition in ‘Julieta’ by Sudaporn Teja at Bangkok Art and Culture Center in 2023, which unfolded a memoir of her life journey, searching for the meaning and the origins of a bouquet of Julieta roses, given by a friend of hers before his departure. After re-perusing the same memoir, the artist quintessentializes the conclusive event by simulating the phenomenon of the changing momentum between objects in an imaginary space into a series of monochromatic abstract paintings. She revives the broken objects of reminiscence to reconstruct the installation and video, reflecting the relationship between objects, space, and the arrow of time.‘After Julieta’ is a recollection of artworks by an interdisciplinary approach bringing together painting, video, photograph, and installation during her expedition between 2018 and 20204. The exhibition encourages an open-ended question about life motives, devoted to a friend who gave her the bouquet of Julieta roses as promised.
